At Splendor Advocaten we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our clients. We proces personal information so that we can successfully act on your behalf. The types of data and reasons are detailed below. Splendor Advocaten is not in the business of selling, renting or trading your personal data with other businesses for marketing purposes.
Splendor Advocaten takes measures to ensure the confidentiality of the information entrusted to it. Privacy is your right.
Data we collect
Splendor Advocaten processes your personal data through our services, because you provide the information to us or/and because we receive personal information from third parties (such as courts, tax and social security authorities etc.).
To successfully process a claim, render legal advice and in general perform our services, there is some information we are going to need. As part of a standard legal case, the following data is required, and therefore collected:
• Name
• Date and place of birth
• If required by law: copy of ID with citizen service number (BSN) blacklined or otherwise rendered illegible
• Contact information such as address, telephone numbers and email addresses
If you are providing this information on behalf of someone else (e.g. joint signatory information), similar information will be collected in accordance with our privacy policy.
You provide consent to our processing of your personal data by signing our letter of engagement. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
Insolvency/WHOA
For insolvency files in which an attorney-at-law of Splendor Advocaten is appointed as trustee, receiver, restructuring expert or observer, personal data may be collected from you and/or received from third parties. Splendor Advocaten processes this information to the extent required in the performance of its legal tasks.
Billing
When you use our services, we will proces information necessary for our financial administration.
Splendor Advocaten may use the services of third parties, such as an accountant, ICT advisor or a tax advisor. In this case, we will take the necessary measures to ensure the confidentiality of the data to be given to these third parties
What we do with your data
We use the data we collect from you to send you our engagement letter (opdrachtbevestiging), to offer legal services, for our financial administration (which will include your bank account number and other payment details) and communications purposes. SA will not use your data for other purposes.
The personal data is stored within our administration system.
Sharing of data
We do not share your personal data with third parties, unless we are required to do so by law or the rules applicable to the legal profession (Advocatenwet, Advocatenverordeningen), including the rules of conduct of the Dutch Bar Association. In communication with the counterparty or its legal representative, personal data may be provided. In addition, in legal proceedings personal data may be shared with bailiffs, the court, translation offices etc.
Email data
Splendor Advocaten uses Outlook. When you email with Splendor Advocaten, your email is stored on the servers of H.D. Services. A local copy of relevant emails will be stored on the computers of Splendor Advocaten. We delete emails that do not have to be archived as soon as possible after reading. Emails that are related to a certain file will be archived in that file. Other emails may be archived in a general folder.
Time of saving
We store your personal data for a maximum period of 7 years after the relevant file is closed. This is due to our Professional rules of conduct, which prevent us from acting against (former) clients (conflict of interest) and is also required to enable us to comply with applicable tax regulations.
Security
We have taken adequate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, unlawful access or change by third parties.
Access to your personal information
You are entitled to object to our processing of personal data and you are entitled to view and request amendment, correction or deletion of the personal information that we hold. Email your request to backoffice@splendoradvocaten.nl. In order to ensure that the request is filed by you, please add a copy of your ID. In some cases you also have the right to data portability. Lastly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. SA offers its website, which can be reached via www.splendoradvocaten.nl. SA does not use cookies or other ways to track visitors. We do receive analytic data from Google Analytics regarding the (computer of) visitors on our website. Through these cookies of Google Analytics (part of the) IP address of the visitor is stored. If you want to block the use of Google Analytics, please download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser add-on.
